NYPS Wins 3 Top Medals @ 71st National Individuals School Championships

On 20-22 March 2019, 49 Nanyang players took part in the 71st National School Individual Chess Championships held at Northland Primary. At national level, our players won three top medals:

Aleenta Quek (Gold, Girls U10)
Rice Lauren (Silver, Girls U12)
Liew Tze Hsien (Silver, Open U10)

Nanyang players also won the following top-20 positions nationally:

Kayden Lim (19th, Open U8)
Liow Xier Gia (4th, Girls U8)
Gelise Ong (5th, Girls U8)
Claire Chen (8th, Girls U8)
Zachary Chia (14th, Open U10)

Rice Leah (4th, Girls U10)
Alyssa Tan (13th, Girls U10)
Zou Chengyu (15th, Girls U10)
Sun Shilian (5th, Girls U12)

All the above also won top-10 West Zone prizes. Other West Zone prize-winners included the following: Valerie Loo (7th, Girls U12), April Loo (9th, Girls U10), Klaus Yeo (5th, Open U10), Marcel Neo (6th, Open U10), Matthew Quek (9th, Open U10), Er Wen Chen (10th, Open U10),  Sun Shixuan (8th, Girls U8), Amanda Ho (10th, Girls U8), Ngiam Li You (5th, Open U8), Marius Neo (6th, Open U8), Sun Yizhou (10th, Open U8).
